Module 1 Speaker Chenthil handles complex commercial disputes across a wide range of industries, including the banking, financial services, mining and aviation sectors. He acts in matters related to investment and joint venture disputes, company and shareholder disputes, contract claims, clubs and societies, defamation, employment, and professional disciplinary matters. He has a particular focus in the technology, banking and financial services industries.
Module 2 Speaker Darrell is a Partner with Bih Li & Lee LLP. He has a broad based practice which covers diverse areas of the law. He actively volunteers his time as a CLAS Merits Tester and CLAS volunteer lawyer. He also serves a Co-Vice Chairperson of the Advocacy Committee and is very involved in advocacy training.
Module 3 Co-Speaker Rajesh is a senior consultant psychiatrist with 16 years’ experience in psychiatry as a consultant specialist psychiatrist after completing my post graduate training in 2004. He is currently am currently working as a senior consultant psychiatrist in Singapore Prison Service treating prisoners with mental disorders since 1st October 2015.
Module 3 Co-Speaker Peggy was admitted to the Bar in 1988. Her practice is in civil and family litigation, as well as corporate and real estate. An essential part of her practice that she retains is in pro bono / low bono work. In the new millennium, she started taking on pro bono criminal work particularly for those who are vulnerable and or have special needs. She feels for those who are unable to have a voice of their own because of their youth, vulnerabilities or have special needs.
Module 4 Speaker Megan started her legal career in commercial litigation. Her interest in criminal defence work was sparked when she was tasked to work on the City Harvest trial in her third year. Since then, Megan has cut her teeth representing numerous clients charged with cheating, forgery, criminal breach of trust, corruption and CDSA offences. Her white collar work allows her to synergise her commercial and criminal litigation practice.
Module 5 Speaker Wendell is Co-Head of Drew & Napier’s Investigations, and Criminal Law practices and was a former deputy public prosecutor with the Attorney General’s Chambers.
Module 6 Co-Speaker Mohamed Faizal presently serves as Deputy Chief Prosecutor at the Attorney-General's Chambers. He joined the Singapore Legal Service in 2005 as a Justices’ Law Clerk. After a brief stint as an Assistant Registrar, he joined the AGC as a Deputy Public Prosecutor in 2007. He remained at the AGC until 2013, when he was seconded to the Singapore Medical Council as General Counsel & Director (Legal).
Module 6 Co-Speaker Derek is a dispute resolution lawyer with a focus on commercial and civil litigation, as well as criminal matters. Derek represents and advises companies and individuals in a broad range of cases, including shareholders and directors' disputes, contractual and employment disputes and cases involving fraud. As a defence lawyer, Derek has represented clients in numerous investigations, trials and appeals and frequently obtained non-prosecutions or successful outcomes in court.

Module 8 Speaker Sreenivasan Narayanan is a senior counsel and has practiced extensively over 35 years in civil litigation and arbitration. He is also well recognized in the areas of business crime and financial regulatory matters. He is admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore. He is a fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators of the UK and the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators.
Module 9 Speaker Mr Tan is currently the Deputy Chairman of WongPartnership LLP. He was appointed Senior Counsel in 2006. Mr Tan spent his earlier career as a civil engineer before becoming a qualified legal practitioner in 1987.He was formerly Deputy Senior State Counsel and Deputy Public Prosecutor in both the civil and criminal divisions of the Attorney-General's Chambers, and Deputy Director of the Commercial Affairs Department in Singapore. Mr Tan joined private practice in 1993.
Module 10 Co-Speaker Criminal lawyer Sunil Sudheesan is the Head of the firm’s Criminal Department. He graduated in 2004 with an Honours degree in Law from the National University of Singapore. Sunil was called to the Singapore Bar on 28 May 2005 and has cultivated deep experience in criminal law ever since.
Module 10 Co-Speaker Joel was called to the bar in 2016. Joel’s practice straddles civil and criminal litigation. Joel has assisted in a wide spectrum of contentious matters, including contractual claims, company and shareholder disputes, as well as matters relating to employment, defamation, and insolvency. Additionally, Joel has assisted in criminal trials and appeals at all levels of the Singapore Courts.
Module 11 Speaker Siew Hong started legal practice in 1988 but from 1990 to 1993, he ran away to “join the circus”. He became a private investigator, chasing crooks who make fake products - not only in Singapore but all over Asia. “It was the greatest time of my life. Sadly, I was told to grow up, stop being a combination of Boy Scout and mugger and get a respectable job”. He therefore sadly returned to legal practice in 1993.
Module 12 Speaker Moy Hooi Yan is currently the Laboratory Director of the Drug Abuse Testing unit of the Analytical Toxicology Laboratory, Health Sciences Authority where she has worked for more than 15 years. Her role is to oversee the effective management, performance and development of the Laboratory within internationally accepted forensic practices and standards.
Module 13 Speaker Eugene specialises in both criminal and commercial litigation. He studied at the Anglo-Chinese School. He read law at the National University of Singapore when he was placed on the final year Deans List with a good Second Upper Bachelor’s Degree in Law. Eugene has represented clients in the Court of Appeal of Singapore, the High Court of Singapore and at various Arbitration Tribunals where he has argued all manner of Criminal and Commercial Disputes.
Module 14 Speaker Sanjiv’s areas of expertise span litigation, arbitration and white-collar-crime and investigations. A litigator with more than 20 years of experience, Sanjiv is a market leader in white-collar defence and fraud investigations work, advising clients on matters that include corruption, criminal breach of trust, insider trading and anti-money laundering. In addition to advising clients on mutual legal assistance and extradition.
Module 16 Speaker A seasoned advocate, Kalidass served as a prosecutor with the Attorney-General's Chambers for more than 10 years between 2001 and 2012. As a prosecutor, Kalidass handled numerous cases involving property offences, offences against the person, white collar crimes, serious drug offences, regulatory offences, among others. Leveraging on his experience in prosecuting for over 10 years, Kalidass brings a rare proposition to the table as Defence Counsel.
Module 16 Speaker An active volunteer at heart, Melvin assists in his professional capacity as an Advocate and Solicitor with various pro bono initiatives, which include the Criminal Legal Scheme, Community Legal Clinics, Legal Aid Bureau, and the Legal Assistance Scheme for Capital Offences. Melvin is a Singapore International Mediation Institute Certified Mediator with numerous years of professional experience.
Module 17 Speaker Mato is a partner at PDLegal LLC and his practice encompasses both civil/commercial litigation and criminal defence. His criminal practice includes representing individuals and corporations in both white-collar and general offences (including violent offences). In 2017 – 2018, he represented the accused person in PP v Shawalludin bin Sa’adon. The accused was initially charged with murder, but the charges were ultimately reduced to VCGH)
Module 18 Speaker Mervyn graduated from NUS Law and was called to the Singapore bar in 2009. A litigator since the start of his legal career, he has appeared in all court levels in Singapore, including before a coram of 5 Justices of the Court of Appeal in February 2020 and successfully overturning a capital conviction. He had conduct of the first successful case under the Innocence Project in 2014.
Module 19 Speaker Malcolm is currently a consultant with City Law LLC and has delivered many talks locally and internationally on diverse topics running the gamut from the administration of criminal justice, insolvency, medico-legal issues to risk management and youth protection.
Module 20 Speaker Remy Choo is a Director at the law firm Peter Low & Choo LLC. He regularly acts in magistrate’s appeals and criminal references on points of law of public interest.
Module 21 Speaker Crystal is a Consultant Forensic Scientist with the DNA Profiling Laboratory, Health Sciences Authority of Singapore. She graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Forensic Science. On return to Singapore in 2002, Crystal started her career as a forensic DNA scientist. Crystal was one of the first scientists involved in the setting up of the DNA Database Laboratory that began operations in 2003.
Module 22 Co-Speaker Alvin graduated from National University of Singapore with honours in Sociology in 2007. As a Probation Officer, Alvin’s work mainly focuses on working with the Courts in assessing offenders’ suitability for community-based rehabilitation, as well as the management of such offenders during their stint on probation. Alvin also manages a team of Probation Officers, and is in charge of introducing Behavioural Insights initiatives within his department.
Module 22 Co-Speaker Gilbert graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) in 2010. As a Probation Officer, he has amassed more than a decade of experience in helping various offender profiles and families address underlying needs, cease offending behaviours, and make positive changes.
